I ASK

Methodology and Training Handbook

A publication of the Jewish Historical Museum, Amsterdam, 2014. Authors: Petra Katzenstein and Irith Koster.

How can a museum find a respectful way of encouraging visitors to open up to things that are unfamiliar and that may even conflict with their views? How to ensure that visitors leave the museum with a broader view and experience of the world, and even, perhaps, with an indication to nuance certain preconceived notions they may have? This handbook describes a new method to accomplish this: I ASK. It was written to accompany the I ASK training course, and can also be used as a reference book.
